Orange wine is a type of white wine made by leaving the grape skins and seeds in contact with the juice, creating a deep orange colored finished product. To make an orange wine, you must first take white grapes, crush them, then put them in a large container (often made of cement or ceramic). Then you typically leave the grapes fermenting alone for a few days to sometimes over a year with the skins and seeds. Thanks to all this, they taste very different from ordinary white wines. They have tannins coming from white grapes and develop aromas with notes of citrus, exotic fruits and even oxidation.
