Rockford Estate

Rockford is a prestigious winery located in Australia's Barossa Valley, founded by Robert O'Callaghan in the 1980s. He began his winemaking career in 1965, purchasing a 2-hectare plot in 1971. He planted vines and built a winery inspired by 1850s stone cottages. Rockford's first vintage was produced in 1984, using traditional winemaking techniques using vintage equipment (such as an 1880s Bagshaw crusher). The winery works with independent Barossa winemakers, allowing it to utilize a wide variety of soils and climates. Many of the vines are 60 to 100 years old, producing concentrated and intense grapes. Rockford's flagship wine is its Basket Press Shiraz : one of Australia's most sought-after wines, consistently receiving high scores from critics.
