Cinsault grape wines

Cinsault is a dark-skinned grape variety traditionally used as a blend with Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre in wines from the southern Rhône valley. It is quite unusual to see Cinsaut produced as a varietal wine, except in rosé as in Provence, in which it embodies lightness, aromatic and freshness.

Cinsault produces wines that are generally low in tannins and generally used in blends for their aromatics. It has a lot in common with Grenache and was once grown for its generous yields. It offers floral notes and ripe strawberries as well as notes of various dried fruits.
