Located in the Yarra Valley, northeast of Melbourne in the state of Victoria, the Yarra Yering vineyard benefits from a cool, temperate climate ideal for Burgundy grape varieties. Planted on predominantly gravelly and clay-loam soils, it enjoys moderate altitudes and cool nights, which promote slow and complete ripening of the grapes. Nestled at the foot of the Warramate Mountains, the estate is sheltered from excessive winds, resulting in wines of great aromatic finesse and balanced structure.

The Pinot Noir grapes are harvested by hand, then destemmed and sorted before fermentation in open vats with manual punch-downs for gentle extraction. Depending on the vintage, some whole bunches may be included to contribute aromatic complexity and structure. After pressing, the wine is transferred to oak barrels, a proportion of which are new, for extended aging to refine the tannins and develop the aromatic profile before bottling at the estate.

This wine reveals notes of red cherry , raspberry , and strawberry , complemented by floral touches of violet and peony . Spicy nuances of sweet pepper and clove mingle with a light oak character reminiscent of cedar and vanilla . The palate displays a silky texture, lively yet harmonious acidity, fine and delicate tannins, and a long finish, carried by great freshness and elegant aromatic persistence.

Located approximately 50 kilometers east of Melbourne in the state of Victoria, the Yarra Valley is one of Australia's oldest wine regions, with the first plantings dating back to 1838. The valley stretches along the Yarra River, bordered by the Dandenong Ranges to the south and the Great Dividing Range to the north, creating a protected natural amphitheater. The climate is temperate oceanic, significantly cooler than most Australian wine regions, with maritime influences from Port Phillip Bay, some 30 kilometers away. Variations in altitude, between 50 and 400 meters, combined with diverse exposures and soils ranging from fertile volcanic clays to well-drained gravelly silts, generate a multitude of microclimates that support the cultivation of a wide range of grape varieties. This cool climate and diversity of terroirs make Yarra Valley a particularly prized region for its elegant and complex wines, including its refined Pinot Noir, expressive Chardonnay and high-quality sparkling wines.
