Tempranillo grape wines

Spain's most famous grape variety, made famous by Rioja, where wines are classified based on how long they have aged in oak barrels. The amazing thing is that a Tempranillo can age well for over 20 years.

The dominant aromas are cherry, dried fig, cedar, tobacco and dill. Age has a significant impact on the flavors of Tempranillo and older vintage examples feature deeper fruit, cigar box and leather notes.
