Located in the Yarra Valley, northeast of Melbourne in the state of Victoria, the Yarra Yering estate enjoys a cool, continental climate, ideal for Burgundy grape varieties. The vines are planted in ancient, well-drained clay and gravel soils, which promote slow and even ripening of the grapes. Nestled in the foothills of the Warramate Range, the site benefits from refreshing breezes and significant temperature variations, providing ideal conditions for producing elegant and balanced wines.

The Pinot Noir grapes are hand-harvested, sorted, and destemmed before undergoing a cold pre-fermentation maceration. Fermentation takes place in open vats with manual pump-overs and punch-downs for gentle extraction. The wine is then pressed and transferred to French oak barrels, a proportion of which are new, for aging for approximately 10 months before blending and bottling at the estate without excessive filtration.

This wine reveals notes of red cherry , raspberry , and crushed strawberry , mingled with floral touches of peony and rose petal, enhanced by spicy accents of sweet pepper and clove, underpinned by a subtle smoky oak influence. The palate displays a silky texture, supported by fresh acidity , fine and velvety tannins, and a long, flavorful, and delicately spiced finish that retains a lovely freshness.

Located approximately 50 kilometers east of Melbourne in the state of Victoria, the Yarra Valley is one of Australia's oldest wine regions, with the first plantings dating back to 1838. The valley stretches along the Yarra River, bordered by the Dandenong Ranges to the south and the Great Dividing Range to the north, creating a protected natural amphitheater. The climate is temperate oceanic, significantly cooler than most Australian wine regions, with maritime influences from Port Phillip Bay, some 30 kilometers away. Variations in altitude, between 50 and 400 meters, combined with diverse exposures and soils ranging from fertile volcanic clays to well-drained gravelly silts, generate a multitude of microclimates that support the cultivation of a wide range of grape varieties. This cool climate and diversity of terroirs make Yarra Valley a particularly prized region for its elegant and complex wines, including its refined Pinot Noir, expressive Chardonnay and high-quality sparkling wines.
