How the wines are selected

It is Romain, co-founder of Le Baroudeur du Vin, who puts the boxes together. Every bottle that goes into a parcel has been through his glass: no cuvée is chosen on the strength of a technical sheet or a medal. If a wine has not convinced him, it does not join the selection.

The cuvées come from artisan estates that work to make precise wines that are true to their terroir. Tasting is the first selection criterion, but quality is not enough: to make it into a box, each wine must also offer a quality-price-pleasure ratio that lives up to our standards.

Then comes putting the parcel together. A successful box is not just two good bottles in a carton: each month, we select two wines from two different countries, chosen to complement each other and make you want to explore further. The aim is simple: to explore, discover and travel through every bottle of wine. And to be completely transparent, we subscribe to our own boxes ourselves.

How does the wine subscription work?

Two options, for all three ranges. The monthly subscription: you are charged on the day of your order, then on the same date every month, and you can stop whenever you like from your customer account. The prepaid option: you pay for a period of one to six months in one go, then receive one box a month for the whole period chosen, with no automatic renewal.

How do I stop the monthly subscription?

From your customer account, in the subscriptions section, at any time and free of charge. Stopping applies to future payments: a box that has already been paid for is shipped as normal.

Which box should I choose?

La Box du Baroudeur is the way in, with approachable cuvées to get started with world wines. La Box du Grand Voyageur brings together premium wines, and La Box Grand Cru great terroirs. If you prefer a common thread, La Box Bio and La Box Italie follow a theme.

How many bottles do you get each month?

Two bottles a month, whichever box you choose. The three ranges come in reds only or as a mix, while the Organic and Italy boxes follow their theme.

When is my box sent?

All our boxes are prepared each month between the 5th and the 10th, to reach you around the 15th.

- If you subscribed during the current month, you will receive your 1st box around the 15th of the following month.

Example: if you subscribed to a box between the 1st and the last day of February, your 1st box will be delivered around 15 March.

What's on the tasting sheet?

Information on the estate, the country and the region, serving and ageing advice, a full aromatic analysis and recommended food pairings.

How much does delivery cost?

It is free to a pick-up point. For home delivery, allow €4.90 extra per month.

What if the parcel arrives broken?

Refuse the parcel on delivery. As soon as it's back with us, we send the bottles again.

Can I give a wine box as a gift?

Yes, with the prepaid option. All three ranges, the Box Bio and the Box Italie are available as a gift card on our Give a wine box page. The monthly subscription, on the other hand, is charged to your own account.
