Pinot Noir 2018

Located in the Yarra Valley in Victoria, Yarra Yering is one of the pioneering estates in this cool wine region of southeastern Australia. Nestled at the foot of the mountains, the vineyards benefit from a temperate climate influenced by the proximity of the ocean and a mosaic of well-drained soils, a blend of clay and gravel. These natural conditions promote a slow and balanced ripening of the Pinot Noir, resulting in wines that are aromatic, structured, and marked by a beautiful finesse in expressing the local terroir.

The Pinot Noir grapes are harvested by hand, then sorted and destemmed before fermentation in small open vats, with manual pump-overs and punch-downs for gentle extraction. After alcoholic fermentation, the wine is pressed and then transferred to French oak barrels, a proportion of which are new, for extended aging to refine the texture and aromatic complexity before bottling at the estate.

This wine reveals notes of fresh red fruits , cherry and raspberry , complemented by floral touches of violet and rose. Spicy nuances of sweet pepper and clove mingle with a light oak character reminiscent of cedar and vanilla. On the palate, the texture is fine and silky, supported by lively acidity , delicate tannins , and a long, balanced finish that underscores the purity of the fruit and the elegance of the style.
