Originating from the Yarra Valley in the state of Victoria, southeastern Australia, this wine comes from vineyards planted on cool hillsides with predominantly clay-loam soils mixed with gravel. The Yarra Yering estate is located in Gruyere, in the heart of this historic region where quality winemaking has been revived thanks to a temperate climate, cool nights, and mountain influences. The Agincourt parcels are selected to offer a precise expression of Bordeaux grape varieties within this iconic wine landscape.

The Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes are harvested by hand, plot by plot, then destemmed and fermented in small open vats with pump-overs and punch-downs for gentle extraction. After pressing, the wines are transferred to French oak barrels, a proportion of which are new, for extended aging to allow the tannins to integrate and aromatic complexity to develop before final blending and bottling at the estate.

This wine reveals notes of blackcurrant , blackberry , and black cherry , complemented by floral touches of violet and spicy nuances of pepper and clove . Delicate accents of blond tobacco , cedar , and toasted oak add a subtle woody dimension. On the palate, the texture is precise, with lively acidity, firm yet fine tannins, and a long finish that leaves an impression of freshness and balance.

Located approximately 50 kilometers east of Melbourne in the state of Victoria, the Yarra Valley is one of Australia's oldest wine regions, with the first plantings dating back to 1838. The valley stretches along the Yarra River, bordered by the Dandenong Ranges to the south and the Great Dividing Range to the north, creating a protected natural amphitheater. The climate is temperate oceanic, significantly cooler than most Australian wine regions, with maritime influences from Port Phillip Bay, some 30 kilometers away. Variations in altitude, between 50 and 400 meters, combined with diverse exposures and soils ranging from fertile volcanic clays to well-drained gravelly silts, generate a multitude of microclimates that support the cultivation of a wide range of grape varieties. This cool climate and diversity of terroirs make Yarra Valley a particularly prized region for its elegant and complex wines, including its refined Pinot Noir, expressive Chardonnay and high-quality sparkling wines.
