Rifle Range Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

The Rifle Range Cabernet Sauvignon is a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Rockford Estate. This vintage was crafted from a selection of vineyards adjacent to Rifle Range Road. The staggered harvest is done by hand, demonstrating the desire to create a precise and complex vintage. The estate favors a traditional, artisanal approach, with hand-picked grapes and pressing the berries in a late 19th-century wooden press before fermenting in open tanks. The wine is then aged for two years in old French and American oak barrels. This wine reveals notes of dark fruits, black cherry, plum, cassis, graphite, tobacco, cedar , rosemary , and other sweet spices. On the palate, it is powerful yet elegant, with superb concentration and complexity, structured by firm yet supple tannins.
