Foravia Langhe Nebbiolo 2022

Proveniente dalle Langhe, in Piemonte, la cuvée Memorie nasce dall’unione di due vitigni simbolo della regione: il Nebbiolo e la Freisa. Il Nebbiolo arriva da vigne giovani situate nei dintorni di Barbaresco, mentre la Freisa proviene da vigneti di famiglia del Roero. Questa cuvée rende omaggio alla tradizione vitivinicola piemontese e al vino che un tempo produceva il nonno di Gabriele. Pratiche colturali rispettose della vita del suolo e i terreni tipici delle colline delle Langhe danno vita a un vino autentico, fresco e profondamente legato al suo terroir.

Le uve vengono vendemmiate a mano, con una raccolta congiunta di Nebbiolo e Freisa, quest’ultima con un leggero appassimento al momento della vendemmia. I due vitigni fermentano spontaneamente con i loro lieviti indigeni in vecchie vasche di cemento. La cuvée affina poi per circa 8 mesi negli stessi contenitori, per preservare la freschezza e l’espressione del frutto. Il vino viene imbottigliato senza filtrazione né stabilizzazione, e continua poi a evolvere in bottiglia. Un approccio poco interventista che privilegia la vitalità, la finezza e l’identità naturale del vino.

Questo vino rivela note di ciliegia rossa, di fragolina di bosco, di rabarbaro, di lampone, di violetta, di ibisco, di eucalipto e di lavanda. In bocca l’attacco è morbido ed energico, sostenuto da un frutto croccante e da una bella freschezza. La materia, succosa e tattile, poggia su tannini fini che danno rilievo senza appesantire l’insieme. Il finale, fresco e leggermente speziato, prolunga le sensazioni fruttate e vegetali con grande vivacità, regalando a questa cuvée un carattere goloso e di facile beva.

But let's talk a little history, viticulture in Italy dates back to ancient times and it originated in Greece. The Etruscans would have planted vines and Greek immigrants would have improved and modified the grape varieties who subsequently called this country "Oenotria": the country of wine. At the height of the Roman Empire, wine held an important place in daily life and certain regions already stood out for the excellence of their product. The Romans also established numerous vineyards in Europe, leaving an indelible testimony to their invasion. Today Italy is the largest wine producer in the world, ahead of France. Italy is divided into three climatic areas. The northern mountains experience a fairly harsh mountain climate. The “middle of the boot” plain is the domain of the continental climate with cold winters and hot, stormy summers. In the "southern part of the Italian boot" the Mediterranean climate reigns with very hot and very dry summers without forgetting the islands of Sicily and Sardinia. In summary, Italy produces wines of great variety thanks to its 200 different grape varieties, many of which originate from their lands. It is a country just as complex as its wines which deserve to be explored!
