Syrah 2022

The MMAD vineyard is located in the Blewitt Springs area and contains Syrah vines, the oldest of which were planted in 1941. The vineyard has fine sands and is exposed to cool southwest sea breezes. Beneath the sand is a layer of ironstone pebbles, and this combination gives both perfume and structure to the wines. The fruit was hand-picked, pressed, and then fermented (80% destemmed, 20% whole bunch) in open stainless steel tanks. The wine was then bottled and aged, unfiltered, for 12 months . This wine reveals notes of blueberry, wild blackberry, black cherry, violet, dark chocolate, graphite , and various spices. Generous, layered, and complex, it has generous tannins and a saline framework that keep the fruit balanced.

Western Australia around Perth, South Australia around Adelaide, Victoria around Melbourne and New South Wales around Sydney. The country is one of the largest wine producers in the world, and was the 4th largest exporter in the world in 2011. This recent development now makes Australia one of the most prominent countries for the quality of its wines. You can taste Australian wines all over the country. Each Australian region has its own grape varieties. Australian wines are defined by their grape variety, unlike French wines which are defined by their terroir.
