Born in 1999 in the Rosario Valley ( DO San Antonio ), the Matetic estate quickly established itself as a pioneer of biodynamic viticulture in Chile. Founded by the Matetic Hartard family and advised by expert Alan York, the 140-hectare vineyard is cultivated according to the principles of certified biodynamics . Located between 200 and 300 meters above sea level, it benefits from the oceanic influence which brings freshness and balance to the wines. Under the direction of Julio Bastías, cellar master for more than 20 years, Matetic favors gravity-fed vinification, with gentle macerations and long aging. Its philosophy is based on absolute respect for nature and the enhancement of the unique terroir of San Antonio. Today, Matetic is considered a reference in this small Chilean region, exported worldwide.
