Si tratta di un uvaggio di 79 % Grenache, 8,4 % Syrah, 7,4 % Mourvèdre, 3,2 % Petite Sirah, 1,6 % Petit Manseng e 0,4 % Muscat. Il Distenta III è stato vinificato utilizzando circa il 35 % di grappoli interi di Grenache e affinato per circa 23 mesi in botti di rovere francese nuove al 42 %, di dimensioni diverse. Ha un colore rubino da medio a profondo ed è incredibilmente profumato in questa fase. Gli aromi di confettura di bacche selvatiche sono accentuati da toni di fiori di campo, catrame, mandarino e chicchi di caffè. Il palato pieno è concentrato ma vivo, traboccante di frutta croccante e floreale e di un'acidità sorprendentemente energica. Presenta tannini dettagliati e granulosi e un finale lungo e saporito che porta bene il suo alcol. Pur venendo da un'annata più fresca, porta comunque una bella profondità e ricchezza, tannini setosi e un bel finale.
