la-rioja-alta-gran-reserva-vina-arana-espagne
La Rioja Alta - Gran Reserva Viña Arana - 2017

Located in the heart of Rioja Alta, in northern Spain, the Viña Arana vineyards extend around Haro and across selected plots in the region's cooler areas. Planted at altitude on well-exposed slopes, the vines benefit from a climate that blends Atlantic and Mediterranean influences, promoting a slow and balanced ripening of the grapes. The poor, well-drained clay-limestone soils naturally limit yields and concentrate quality, resulting in a wine that precisely expresses the classic terroir of Rioja Alta.

The grapes are harvested by hand, with meticulous sorting both in the vineyard and in the winery. After destemming and gentle crushing, alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation. The wine is then aged in American oak barrels crafted by the estate's cooperage, with racking every six months, before undergoing extended bottle aging to achieve the characteristic harmony and complexity of this cuvée.

This wine reveals notes of ripe red , black, and dried fruits , complemented by delicate floral touches, spicy nuances reminiscent of vanilla and clove, and elegant oak with hints of cedar and blond tobacco .
