Located in the Aconcagua Valley, northwest of Santiago, the Errazuriz vineyard benefits from a Mediterranean climate tempered by the refreshing influence of the Pacific Ocean and Andean breezes. The plots destined for the La Cumbre cuvée are planted on well-drained hillsides, composed of alluvial and colluvial soils mixing gravel, sand, and clay, favoring a slow and regular ripening of the berries. This mosaic of terroirs, combined with precision viticulture, allows for the expression of a concentrated, structured, and elegant Syrah, emblematic of the Aconcagua Valley.
The Syrah grapes for this cuvée are harvested by hand, carefully sorted, then destemmed before a cold pre-fermentation maceration. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks under temperature control, with regular pump-overs to extract color and tannins. After devatting and malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged in French oak barrels, mostly new, for about eighteen months, to refine the structure, bring aromatic complexity, and harmoniously integrate the oak.
This wine reveals notes of blackberry, blueberry, and black plum, complemented by floral touches of violet and lavender, as well as spicy nuances of black pepper, licorice, and clove. Woody accents of cocoa, roasted coffee, and vanilla mingle with a subtle mineral dimension. The palate is full and concentrated, supported by firm yet polished tannins, well-integrated freshness, and a long, savory, and slightly smoky finish.
