gomez-cruzado-vina-dorana-reserva-espagne
Gómez Cruzado - Vina Dorana Reserva - 2017

Originating from Rioja Alta in northern Spain, Viña Dorana Reserva de Gómez Cruzado comes from vineyards located around Haro, the historical cradle of the region's great wines. The plots, planted on predominantly clay-limestone soils with alluvial influences, benefit from a temperate Atlantic climate and significant temperature variations, promoting slow and balanced ripening of the grapes. This mosaic of terroirs brings structure, freshness, and complexity to the wine, a true reflection of Rioja tradition.

The grapes for Viña Dorana Reserva 2017 are hand-harvested on the slopes of Rioja Alta, then destemmed and sorted before alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by maceration to extract color and structure. Malolactic fermentation takes place in tanks before extended aging in oak barrels, followed by further bottle aging to harmonize the tannins and develop the aromatic complexity characteristic of the classic style of the Gómez Cruzado winery.

This wine reveals notes of ripe red and black fruits and plum , complemented by subtle floral touches and a palette of sweet spices reminiscent of vanilla and clove. Woody and toasty nuances from barrel aging add complexity and depth.
