Located in the hills of Valpolicella Classica, north of Verona, the Giuseppe Quintarelli estate cultivates its vines on well-exposed slopes overlooking the valley. The plots dedicated to Amarone della Valpolicella benefit from predominantly limestone and basaltic soils, mixing pebbles, clay, and tuff, which ensure natural drainage and a good water reserve. This hilly landscape, marked by a temperate climate with Mediterranean influences, allows for a slow and complete ripening of the grapes, ideal for the traditional appassimento practiced at the estate.
At the Giuseppe Quintarelli estate, the grapes destined for Amarone della Valpo Tre Terre are hand-picked at full ripeness, then slowly dried using the traditional appassimento method. After this drying process, the berries are destemmed and ferment slowly with prolonged maceration, in order to extract color, richness, and aromatic complexity. The wine is then aged for many years in large oak barrels, where it patiently refines, gaining in depth, velvety texture, and harmony before bottling.
This wine reveals notes of candied black cherry, dried plum, and fig, complemented by floral touches of violet and dried rose, as well as spicy nuances of pepper, licorice, and clove. Woody accents of cocoa, blond tobacco, and vanilla blend with a light balsamic dimension. On the palate, the body is ample and velvety, supported by ripe tannins, a balancing acidity, and a very long, warm, and harmonious finish.
