ott-estate-der-ott-autriche
Ott Estate - Der Ott - 2024

Located in Lower Austria, the Ott estate lies in the heart of the Wagram wine region, on the north bank of the Danube, between Krems and Tulln. The vines for the Der Ott cuvée come from sunny slopes and terraces, planted in deep loess soils mixed with clay and gravel, renowned for producing precise and elegant wines. This slightly elevated terroir benefits from a continental climate moderated by the river's influence, offering temperature variations that promote slow ripening and preserve aromatic freshness.

Made from biodynamically cultivated and hand-harvested grapes, this wine is crafted from carefully sorted and gently pressed grapes. The must ferments slowly with indigenous yeasts, primarily in stainless steel tanks, to preserve aromatic purity and mineral tension. Aging continues on fine lees in the same tanks, with minimal intervention, until blending and bottling, aiming to precisely express the identity of the estate's terroirs.

This wine reveals notes of ripe citrus , crisp green apple , and juicy pear , complemented by delicate floral touches and a mineral dimension typical of the Wagram loess. Slightly spicy nuances add complexity.
