We are in Malfa, one of the 3 towns on the island, dotted with volcanoes.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n \u003cp\u003eThis vintage is made from a rare Sicilian grape variety called \u003cstrong\u003ePerricone\u003c\/strong\u003e . The vineyard is managed entirely \u003cstrong\u003eorganically\u003c\/strong\u003e and the harvest is done by hand. Fermentation will take place in stainless steel vats and will be aged there for an additional 3 months. There is no use of oak barrels to preserve the expression of the fruit as much as possible. This intense wine is expressed through aromas of \u003cstrong\u003eblackberry\u003c\/strong\u003e , \u003cstrong\u003eblack cherry\u003c\/strong\u003e , \u003cstrong\u003eblackcurrant\u003c\/strong\u003e , \u003cstrong\u003ejuniper berries\u003c\/strong\u003e , \u003cstrong\u003ebay leaf\u003c\/strong\u003e , \u003cstrong\u003eblack pepper\u003c\/strong\u003e , \u003cstrong\u003eblack olive\u003c\/strong\u003e and \u003cstrong\u003ebalsamic notes\u003c\/strong\u003e . The palate is pure, powerful and concentrated, balanced by acidity and mineral freshness.
