quinta-da-romaneira-reserva-white-portugal
Quinta da Romaneira - Reserva White - 2022

Located on the left bank of the Douro River, in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed valley, Quinta da Romaneira stretches across steep schist slopes overlooking the river. The vineyard dedicated to the Reserva White is planted on terraced plots facing predominantly south and southeast, benefiting from abundant sunshine and cooler nights. These conditions, typical of the Cima Corgo region, promote the slow ripening of the white grapes while preserving their freshness and mineral expression, a signature of the estate's schist soils.

The white grapes at Quinta da Romaneira are hand-harvested and then gently pressed before cold settling. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve aromatic purity and freshness. Part of the wine is then aged in stainless steel tanks on its fine lees, while the other part is aged in oak barrels with regular stirring to add complexity, volume, and texture, before the final blending and bottling at the estate.

This wine reveals notes of ripe citrus , stone fruit , and tropical fruit , complemented by touches of white flowers , delicate spicy nuances, and a light toasty oak character from partial barrel aging.
