The Verdelho plots come mainly from coastal and mid-slope areas, benefiting from a subtropical climate tempered by sea winds and volcanic soil rich in basalt. This combination of oceanic freshness and mineral soils gives the grapes a marked acidity and great purity, essential characteristics of Barbeito Madeira wines.

Made from Verdelho grapes harvested at maturity on the slopes of Madeira, this wine is produced according to the tradition of the island's fortified wines. After gentle pressing, fermentation is controlled to preserve the aromatics, then interrupted by mutage with wine spirit to retain some natural sugars. The wine is then aged for a long time in oak barrels, using the canteiro system, allowing controlled oxidation and slow refinement, until the final blending and bottling.

This wine reveals notes of candied citrus, dried fruits such as walnuts and almonds, complemented by delicate floral touches, spicy nuances of cinnamon and nutmeg, and a discreet woody register resulting from oxidative aging.
