hahn-pinot-noir-etats-unis
Hahn - Pinot Noir - 2021

Hahn's Pinot Noir comes from vineyards located in the cool Santa Lucia Highlands of Monterey County, in California's Central Coast. The plots benefit from ocean breezes from Monterey Bay and a climate characterized by significant day-night temperature swings. The soils, primarily composed of well-drained gravel, sandy loam, and alluvial deposits, promote slow grape maturation. This combination of maritime coolness and generous sunshine results in expressive and balanced Pinot Noirs.

This red Hahn Pinot Noir from the United States is made from grapes harvested at optimal ripeness, then destemmed before fermentation in temperature-controlled tanks to preserve the fruit and aromatic finesse. Moderate pump-overs and rack and returns encourage gentle tannin extraction. The wine is then aged in oak barrels, including a portion in French oak, to add structure, spicy notes, and complexity, while maintaining a supple, round, and accessible profile from a young age.

This wine reveals notes of black cherry, ripe raspberry, and plum, complemented by floral touches of violet and spicy nuances of pepper and clove, supported by delicate hints of vanilla and toasted oak.
