bogle-chardonnay-etats-unis
Bogle - Chardonnay - 2023

This cuvée comes from the Bogle family, based in Clarksburg, in the Sacramento River Delta, in the heart of California. The vines enjoy a hot, sunny climate, tempered every evening by cool breezes drifting up from San Francisco Bay. The family vineyards are certified for sustainable viticulture under the Californian standard, and the 2023 vintage, with its cool growing season, allowed slow, even ripening of the grapes.

Half of the must ferments in oak barrels, the other half in stainless-steel tanks, in order to combine roundness with bright fruit. Malolactic fermentation is carried through to completion, then the wine is aged on the lees for eight months, with regular manual bâtonnage that stirs the fine lees back into suspension. This ageing brings a broad, creamy texture while preserving the natural freshness of the Chardonnay.

This wine reveals notes of lemon, fresh apple, juicy pear, white peach, jasmine, vanilla, fresh butter, clove and toast.
