Located in the Yarra Valley, northeast of Melbourne, the Yarra Yering vineyard benefits from a cool, temperate climate ideal for expressing Pinot Noir. The vines are planted in ancient soils, a blend of clay and gravel, providing both drainage and water retention. This hilly terroir, at a moderate altitude, enjoys cool nights that promote slow ripening and preserve the natural acidity of the grapes. The nearby oceanic influence limits excessive heat, resulting in elegant, structured wines of great aromatic finesse.

The Pinot Noir grapes are hand-harvested, sorted, and destemmed before fermentation in small, open vats, with manual punch-downs to gently extract color and tannins. Malolactic fermentation then takes place in French oak barrels. The wine is aged in French oak barrels for several months, with a limited proportion of new oak to preserve the aromatic finesse and expression of the cool Yarra Valley terroir.

This wine reveals notes of crisp red fruits , Morello cherry , and raspberry , enhanced by floral touches reminiscent of peony and rose. Spicy nuances of sweet pepper and cinnamon mingle with a light oak influence of fine oak and forest floor. On the palate, the texture is silky , supported by fresh acidity, finely integrated tannins, and a persistent, juicy, and elegant finish that highlights the purity of the fruit and the delicacy of the Pinot Noir.

Located approximately 50 kilometers east of Melbourne in the state of Victoria, the Yarra Valley is one of Australia's oldest wine regions, with the first plantings dating back to 1838. The valley stretches along the Yarra River, bordered by the Dandenong Ranges to the south and the Great Dividing Range to the north, creating a protected natural amphitheater. The climate is temperate oceanic, significantly cooler than most Australian wine regions, with maritime influences from Port Phillip Bay, some 30 kilometers away. Variations in altitude, between 50 and 400 meters, combined with diverse exposures and soils ranging from fertile volcanic clays to well-drained gravelly silts, generate a multitude of microclimates that support the cultivation of a wide range of grape varieties. This cool climate and diversity of terroirs make Yarra Valley a particularly prized region for its elegant and complex wines, including its refined Pinot Noir, expressive Chardonnay and high-quality sparkling wines.
