Located in the Yarra Valley, east of Melbourne in the state of Victoria, the Yarra Yering vineyard benefits from a cool, temperate climate influenced by its proximity to the ocean. The Pinot Noir vines are planted in predominantly gravelly, well-drained soils, a blend of clay and alluvial deposits, which promote slow and even ripening of the grapes. This historic part of the Yarra Valley is renowned for producing elegant wines that are both precise and aromatic, subtly reflecting the influence of the surrounding hills and the diversity of vineyard exposures.

The Pinot Noir grapes are hand-harvested, destemmed, and sorted before fermentation in open vats with manual punch-downs for gentle extraction. Malolactic fermentation takes place in barrels. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels, a proportion of which are new, for approximately 10 months to preserve the aromatic finesse and delicate structure of the Pinot Noir while adding complexity and texture.

This wine reveals delicate red fruit notes, dominated by cherry and raspberry , complemented by floral touches of violet and peony. Subtle spicy nuances, reminiscent of nutmeg and sweet pepper, mingle with a light oak character featuring hints of cedar and subtle smoke. The palate displays a silky texture, fresh acidity , and fine tannins , offering a slender structure and a persistent finish that is both juicy and elegantly supported by the wine's tension.

Located approximately 50 kilometers east of Melbourne in the state of Victoria, the Yarra Valley is one of Australia's oldest wine regions, with the first plantings dating back to 1838. The valley stretches along the Yarra River, bordered by the Dandenong Ranges to the south and the Great Dividing Range to the north, creating a protected natural amphitheater. The climate is temperate oceanic, significantly cooler than most Australian wine regions, with maritime influences from Port Phillip Bay, some 30 kilometers away. Variations in altitude, between 50 and 400 meters, combined with diverse exposures and soils ranging from fertile volcanic clays to well-drained gravelly silts, generate a multitude of microclimates that support the cultivation of a wide range of grape varieties. This cool climate and diversity of terroirs make Yarra Valley a particularly prized region for its elegant and complex wines, including its refined Pinot Noir, expressive Chardonnay and high-quality sparkling wines.
