This plot of around 3.2 hectares, facing south-east, lies on slightly sandy calcareous and clay marls, formed by sedimentation from the sea that covered the Po plain ten million years ago. This relatively young, sand-rich terroir gives wines with floral and fruity aromas.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIn 2013, a late vintage, the Nebbiolo was harvested on 18 October, after a warm autumn conducive to wines for ageing. Fermentation lasts around 12 days at controlled temperature, from 22-25 °C at the start to 29-30 °C, followed by a 30-day submerged-cap maceration at 29 °C. After running off, malolactic fermentation lasts 15 days. The wine is aged for four years in 4,500-litre Slavonian oak vats, then refined for a year in bottle.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThis wine reveals notes of \u003cstrong\u003efaded rose\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003echerry\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003eraspberry\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003eliquorice\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003etar\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003etobacco\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003eforest floor\u003c\/strong\u003e and \u003cstrong\u003eleather\u003c\/strong\u003e. The red fruit and rose recall the finesse of the sandy terroir, while the tertiary touches bear witness to a decade of evolution.
