Warramate Pinot Noir 2021

Located in the Yarra Valley, east of Melbourne in Victoria, the Warramate vineyard belongs to the Yarra Yering estate and extends across well-drained slopes overlooking the central part of the region. The vines benefit from a cool to temperate climate, influenced by the proximity of the Great Dividing Range and cooler nights, which promote slow and even ripening of the grapes. The predominantly clay-loam soils with gravelly elements contribute to the production of elegant and aromatic Pinot Noirs.

Sourced from vines in the Yarra Valley, this Pinot Noir is hand-harvested and carefully sorted before fermentation in tanks, a process designed to preserve the purity of the fruit and the finesse of the tannins. Maceration is conducted gently, with limited extractions to maintain aromatic elegance. The wine is then aged in oak barrels, including a proportion of French oak, to impart complexity and structure while respecting the delicate character of the grape variety and the freshness inherent to the Yarra Yering terroir.

This wine reveals notes of crisp red fruits , Morello cherry , and raspberry , complemented by floral touches reminiscent of violet and peony, as well as delicate spicy and woody nuances from aging. On the palate, the texture is silky , supported by fresh acidity and fine tannins , with a long , elegant finish that highlights the purity of the fruit and the elegance of the terroir.
