This south-facing hillside climbs to a plateau at 280 metres; the VDP.Grosse Lage occupies its central part, between 180 and 240 metres, with a 20% gradient. Heavy clay marls with limestone inclusions rest on water-bearing limestone beds, which provide the vines with an ideal supply of water and minerals.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe estate farms its vines with certified biodynamic methods. In 2024, the Rieslings were harvested by hand between late September and early October, from healthy, ripe grapes. The destemmed berries undergo a short skin maceration before fermenting spontaneously with native yeasts in 2,500-litre foudres. The wine is then aged for around ten months on the lees in these same foudres.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThis wine reveals notes of \u003cstrong\u003elemon\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003ecitron\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003emirabelle plum\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003epear\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003epineapple\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003elemon verbena\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003elemon thyme\u003c\/strong\u003e and \u003cstrong\u003echalk\u003c\/strong\u003e. The palate, with a rare complexity of texture, combines impressive concentration with great vivacity.
