christophe-abbet-syrah-suisse
Christophe Abbet - Syrah - 2020

Located in the heart of Valais, the Christophe Abbet estate cultivates its vines on the sunny hillsides overlooking the right bank of the Rhône, around Martigny and Fully. The Syrah plots benefit from a distinct continental climate, with significant temperature fluctuations and generous sunshine, promoting a slow and complete ripening of the grapes. The soils, composed of alluvial deposits, glacial moraines, and schist scree, offer natural drainage and limit vigor, allowing for a precise expression of the spicy and profound character of this Rhone grape variety.

This Syrah comes from meticulously managed vines, hand-harvested at full ripeness to preserve the integrity of the berries. The winemaking process is low-intervention, with fermentation in vats and measured extractions to promote the expression of the fruit and spice typical of the grape variety. Aging then takes place in barrels, on fine lees, to refine the tannic structure and gain aromatic complexity while preserving the freshness and elegance characteristic of the estate's wines.

This wine reveals notes of ripe dark fruits, wild blackberry, and plum, enhanced by peppery and garrigue touches, as well as delicate floral nuances reminiscent of violet. Smoky and subtly woody accents complete the bouquet.
