The Bual comes mainly from Calheta, Arco da Calheta and Estreito da Calheta, on the south coast, where the vines are trellised. The volcanic soils, made up of basalt, trachyte and tuff, and the temperate oceanic climate, whose temperature and humidity vary with altitude, produce grapes with striking acidity.

The grapes from the 2008 harvest alone are picked by hand, with a quality selection in several passes according to their ripeness. After fermentation, the wine is fortified with grape spirit, which sets its level of sweetness. It then ages according to the traditional canteiro system, in 650-litre casks at ambient temperature, until the month it is bottled. This colheita was bottled in 2022, after more than a decade of slow evolution in the house's lodges.

This wine reveals notes of dried fruit, vanilla, exotic woods, tea, dry leaves, cinnamon, walnut and brandy.
