These very steep, sun-drenched slopes, warmed by the river, are among Germany's most renowned terroirs for Riesling. The Trossen family estate farms its vines here with a large share of manual work and a sustainable viticulture approach, so that each wine reflects as closely as possible the climate, the soil and the know-how of its winegrowers.

This cuvée, named Finesse by the estate, is a Spätlese: it is made from berries harvested at full ripeness, later than the basic wines, to concentrate the Riesling's aromas in the wine. The grapes are handled with great care in the cellar, then fermented to a dry style, leaving only about ten grams of residual sugar, balanced by marked acidity. The estate does not detail the length of ageing, which is managed to preserve the purity of the fruit and the freshness of the grape variety.

This wine reveals notes of white peach, lime, green apple, apricot, linden blossom, flint, ginger and acacia honey. The precise, luminous nose blends white-fleshed fruit and citrus with a floral touch. The dry, taut palate reveals fine density of fruit carried by lively acidity and a saline mineral sensation. The finish is long, clean and refreshing, remarkably easy to drink.
