Grain Syrah 2023

The Grain Syrah from Domaine Marie-Thérèse Chappaz originates on the terraced slopes of Fully, in the heart of Valais, on the right bank of the Rhône. The vines are rooted in steep, well-drained schist and morainic soils, benefiting from abundant sunshine and significant temperature variations. This alpine landscape, characterized by dry stone walls and cool breezes descending from the peaks, promotes a slow and complete ripening of the grapes, resulting in a Syrah of character that is precise, spicy, and imbued with a beautiful freshness.

This wine reveals notes of ripe black fruits , such as blackberry and blueberry, supported by hints of violet and peony , then develops spicy nuances of black pepper and licorice , complemented by a discreet oak character reminiscent of cedar and a touch of smoke . The palate is full-bodied and juicy, supported by fine yet present tannins , well-integrated freshness , and a persistent finish that underscores the spicy character and precision of the terroir.
