artadi-vina-el-pison-espagne
Artadi - Viña El Pison - 2022

Located in the heart of Rioja Alavesa, the Viña El Pisón vineyard belongs to the Artadi estate, near the village of Laguardia, in northern Spain. Nestled on a gently sloping plateau, this plot benefits from a continental climate tempered by Atlantic influence and deep clay-limestone soils that favor a slow and regular ripening of the grapes. Surrounded by small hills and protected from the harshest winds, this old vineyard precisely expresses the mineral character and finesse characteristic of this emblematic Rioja terroir.

Harvesting is carried out manually on the single plot of Viña El Pisón, with meticulous sorting of the berries. Fermentation takes place in open vats with indigenous yeasts, favoring gentle extractions to preserve the fruit's finesse and the purity of the terroir. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels, where it matures on fine lees to gain complexity, silky texture, and aromatic depth, before being bottled without aggressive filtration.

This wine reveals notes of ripe dark fruits, fresh red fruits, and violet, complemented by touches of sweet spices, licorice, and noble wood, as well as subtle mineral nuances.
