The vines can be quite high in terms of altitude which gives a \u003cstrong\u003ecooler microclimate\u003c\/strong\u003e at night allowing the grapes to ripen more slowly. They are planted on a terroir made up of limestone marl which is locally called “galestro”. The harvest is manual and macerated for around 20 days in open vats. Some of the wines are aged in 2nd and 3rd use \u003cstrong\u003eoak barrels\u003c\/strong\u003e for \u003cstrong\u003e12 months\u003c\/strong\u003e . This deep wine reveals aromas of \u003cstrong\u003eblack fruits\u003c\/strong\u003e , \u003cstrong\u003eviolet\u003c\/strong\u003e , \u003cstrong\u003echerry\u003c\/strong\u003e , \u003cstrong\u003ewild strawberries\u003c\/strong\u003e , \u003cstrong\u003eblond tobacco\u003c\/strong\u003e , \u003cstrong\u003eblackberry, cloves\u003c\/strong\u003e \u003cstrong\u003e,\u003c\/strong\u003e smoky notes and \u003cstrong\u003egraphite\u003c\/strong\u003e .
