artesanos-del-cochiguaz-pisco-artesanal-chili
Artesanos del Cochiguaz - Pisco Artesanal

This pisco comes from the Cochiguaz, a small, steep-sided valley in the upper Elqui Valley, near Paihuano and Monte Grande, in the Coquimbo region of northern Chile. The vines grow here at the foot of the Andes, under an arid and extremely luminous climate, with hot days, cool nights and some of the clearest skies in the world. These conditions produce ripe, highly aromatic grapes, the basis of the region's piscos.

Artesanos del Cochiguaz, now part of the Capel cooperative, makes this pisco using traditional, artisanal methods. After distillation of wines from local grapes, the spirit rests in wooden casks, which give it its intense colour and round out its texture. It is then reduced to 35 degrees, the classic strength of Chilean piscos, before bottling.

This pisco reveals notes of fresh grape, dried apricot, pear, orange blossom, honey, vanilla, toasted almond and soft wood.
