hahn-chardonnay-etats-unis
Hahn - Chardonnay - 2022

Located in the coastal region of Monterey, California, Hahn Estate cultivates its Chardonnay on hillsides swept by cool breezes from the Pacific Ocean. The vines benefit from a climate tempered by wind and fog, with significant diurnal temperature variations that promote slow and balanced ripening of the grapes. The soils, composed of alluvial deposits, gravel, and sand, offer good drainage and allow for a beautiful freshness to be expressed in the wine.

The Hahn Estate Chardonnay grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness, then gently pressed before fermentation in stainless steel tanks and oak barrels, preserving the freshness of the fruit while adding complexity. A portion of the wine is aged on fine lees, with periodic bâtonnage, to gain volume and texture, while oak aging, partly in new oak, brings subtle notes of vanilla and toast, balancing the typical aromatic expression of this Californian Chardonnay.

This wine reveals notes of ripe apple, juicy pear, and citrus, complemented by delicate floral touches, spicy nuances reminiscent of vanilla and nutmeg, and a light toasted oak.
